'desha' is the Sanskrit word for ‘space’ or ‘place’. Often used to describe the quiet inner space cultivated through mindfulness and meditation, we take it to refer to the internal spaciousness that props help you find in your yoga practice. Prop use is essential for helping practitioners build the strength, balance, awareness, and flexibility necessary for a safe and effective yoga practice.
As far as possible, our products are made from locally sourced, sustainable and non-toxic materials mindfully created to support and transform your practice.
At desha, our mission is to create premium yoga products that are sustainable, supportive and durable. We aim to promote the regular use of props in a yoga practice and to educate practitioners on how to effectively use props to build strength, find alignment and facilitate a more intelligent mind body connection.
desha stands behind beautifully designed, well researched and effective products that all embrace eco friendliness as far as possible in terms of product materials and packaging.

She has had a dedicated daily yoga practice since 2010 and completed her 200hr teacher-training at The Shala in Cape Town in 2016. She is currently her 300hr teacher training. She aims to integrate the alignment precision of Iyengar yoga with the fluidity of vinyasa yoga into her classes to provide students with a safe, intelligently sequenced and inspiring space from which to go deep into their practice.
